January Candy Winner

I was sitting at my kitchen table this morning, half asleep and trying to wake up. I sat there sipping coffee, thinking about some beautiful flowers I saw the day before at a local craft store. Not really sure how I would use them I left them on the shelf but added them to my someday wishlist. So as a new day rolled around I was still thinking about these little pretties and wishing I would have just got them for my stash.

And that's when it dawned on me...

Januarys blog candy was sitting on my desk just waiting for a winner. Where did the month go? I'm not even ready with new candy for February yet. I'm days behind. And this got me up and moving this morning. Now wide awake and ready to get things up and running. Random number generator has picked a winner and I know the perfect little package of flowers that I'll have to go and buy for this months candy. They're sitting on a shelf just waiting for me.

A Perfect New Years Day

2014

Can you believe it's already a new year?

Seems the days of 2013 just flew by.

It was a picture perfect holiday this year. I'm not usually the stay up all night and make a lot of noise person on New Years. I tend to watch the countdown on tv while enjoying a nice cup of coffee on my couch, then crawl into bed by 12:05. Oddly this year I got to sleep in, which is so rare but so wonderful and somehow I seemed to be ahead on all the housework so I spent the morning relaxing.

By lunchtime I started slow cooking a homemade soup and enjoyed simmering it most of the afternoon. I so love to cook but hardly ever have tons of time to spend the whole day cooking but I decided that I would put in a little extra effort and topped dinner off with homemade blueberry lemon cream cheese cupcakes. It was such a wonderful meal.

We spent the rest of the afternoon watching snow come in.

It was peaceful and relaxing. 

A completely perfect day at home.

And now it's day number two.

Time to get back to work and name a few winners for candy.

Crafting Time & Halloween Sticker Winner

I love the early hours of the mornings. I usually wake up around 5, giving me about 2 to 3 hours of quality crafting time before he rest of my house gets up to start their days. I have one very faithful dog that crawls out of bed with me everyday. After taking outside to do her morning business she'll lay at my feet while I work at my art table. If she's in a snuggly mood she'll crawl in my lap and I'll love on her with one hand while drawing or coloring with the other. I think we both consider this special time together. She's such a sweetheart, and I really consider her one of my best friends and my favorite crafting buddy.

The past several mornings have been so productive in regards to my artwork. I've filled nearly a dozen pages in my art journal this week. I have so many fun digis to polish up and get posted.

The Halloween season has been truly inspirational too. So many costume ideas to make cute illustrations of. And the best part is I get to do something I love first thing in my day, with one of my favorite buddies, all while watching the sun come up.

It's a beautiful and relaxing way to start the day.
