Have you ever sat down to color your image to find that your usual markers are dried out. You press and try to stretch the marker but it comes out streaky. You have no idea when it died, the last time you used it, it was juicy and fine; but somehow over the course of a couple of days it just gave out on you.
This is what happened to me this week. Several of my normal skin and hair colors just quit; so I had to change to an alternative coloring medium. After a little debated I settled on colored pencils. I love my pencils. They've always been my favorite way to color; but I'm a layer pencil person. Twenty to twenty five layers just to achieve the shading that I want. This takes way to much time to be my everyday style. I love it but save it for special moments.
This week was a great time to for one of those special moments to happen too. I've created a digi for a very special bloggy friend. She's been of great support to me and I just really appreciate all that she has done for me. She loves to garden and I wanted to create an illustration that was in honor of her and her craft.
Angie thank you for being a wonderful friend. I hope you love your digi.
I went with black eyed susans and hydrangeas. I think they're two of the most beautiful flowers. Every time see them at the store I just want to fill my own garden with them. I love the beautiful shades of purple and pink. They a wonderful set of floral inspiration.
