Coffee Date, Come Enjoy a Cup and Lets Catch Up

Coffee anyone?
I'm really starting to enjoy doing coffee dates.
It's such a great way to catch everyone up on everything.
It's just a fun way to share.
Plus, taking photos of bright spring dishes
is just an extra added bonus.
And I'm ready for spring, for beautiful bright colors, and for warm sun shiny days.

It's been a whirlwind of a week. My husband has been away on a work trip so it's been just me and my little guy. And it has been a totally amazing week. 24/7 just the two of us. Loved it. I tried to hold my breath and savor every moment. They were so fleeting and passed by much to quickly. These sweet moments of loving bigger than you ever imagined are so wondrous. We spent warm days just lounging in the backyard. At one point the two of us just sat on the back step staring at the yard. No words were spoken, just us holding hands and relaxing. I realized at that very moment that this was all I ever wanted.
To be a mother, to have a best friend, and to enjoy our time together.

Everyday is full of trials. Some harder than others, but in a full view of my life I am so grateful and happy. I feel very blessed.

Being full time mommie left little me time. I really thought that would be something that I would miss, but it truly didn't bother me at all.
When my son would start to play by himself I would enjoy a cup of coffee and usually pick up a car to play with him. I didn't really jump at the chance for alone time. I was having way to much fun bonding.

Now my hubby is back and it's nice having our whole family back together again. The boys are enjoying guy time in the afternoons so I have started drawing again. I have several pictures still in the works. I'm just kinda adding to each one here and there as I go. Production has been slow recently, lol; but I'm getting back to it again.

Here's a few previews of what's coming soon.

Cuddlebug Cuties Coming Soon
This little cutie is my favorite. Just tons of hair and layers and layers of dress.

Cuddlebug Cuties Coming Soon
This is my Easter girl. She's still in the works and I want to add an bunny to the illustration. I have it all worked out in my head now I just need to get it on paper.

Cuddlebug Cuties Coming Soon

This one is still in such a bare sketch stage I have no idea where I'm going with her. She might just be a pretty face that I save for later.

Well, that's it with me recently. I hope you enjoyed your coffee break. It's been a pleasure.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Hugs,
Anna

Time for a Coffee Date

It's been awhile since we had a time to catch up and have a delicious cup of coffee.
Do you have time before the big game to sit down and relax for a few.
I have a warm toasted hazelnut blend with sweet whipped cream and shaved chocolate to top it off with. You won't be disappointed, my first cup was so scrumptious that I am now on number two.

Are you ready for the big football game?
I myself am taking the easy way out this year. We're having a small family get together and ordering pizza. I did however, make a small dessert for the occasion.

Homemade french silk pie.
I'm such a foodie, any reason I can find to cook I use.
If you asked any of my friends what type of blog I probably have they'd tell you a cooking / baking blog, lol. Nobody would ever guess art, I always think that's kinda funny.

My plans are to just relax and watch the game a little, I'm not truly a sports fanatic I'm mainly trying to spend time with my guy doing something that he loves. Thankful he doesn't mind if I have my drawing book or computer in my lap, so we're both happy.  So, maybe a few new pictures tonight and I'm sure I'll spend the majority of the night on Pinterest looking at all kinds of pretties. I'm just a little bit addicted to it.

I find so may craft projects that I want to try from Pinterest.  Everything I see is like, " oh wow, I have to try that".
Right now I have plans to make a fabric journal, maybe just the cover instead of an entire book. I think a vintage shabby chic cover would look great on one of my drawing journals.

I spent the day yesterday browsing an antique mall for little treasures that would clean up nice and make a crazy quilt of notions for a truly vintage cover. I found all kinds of  ribbons, laces, pillowcases, napkins, and hankies. I'm not really sure how I'm going to put it all together yet but I think it'll be a fun project. I'm not a sewing machine person, I prefer to sew by hand so I'm pretty sure this little book will take me a bit, but it'll be totally worth it.

Pretty heart I found while shopping. This will be great for my cover.

So that's pretty much my weekend. It's been wonderful and full of memories.

How has your day been going? I'll pour us another cup and you can give me all the great details.

Hugs,
Anna

Coffe Date

It's late in the afternoon here and I'm just sitting down for my second cup of coffee for the day.
Would you like to join me? I can offer coffee, tea, juice, water and yummy chocolate chip cookies. They're huge and full of delicious chips, well worth every calorie they add, lol.
So pull up a chair and lets have a girls afternoon; sharing stories and enjoying life.

I spent most of last week feeling a bit under the weather. I believe my little man picked up a bug that made him feel icky for about a day and then it passed to me, and me feel awful for about a week. Isn't it amazing how fast you bounce back when your little.
I got so far behind that week. I'm still trying to catch up on laundry and emails. Truly my email has nearly 500 unread messages. I keep trying to get through them fearing that I am missing something important and not wanting to leave anybody without a return message.

***
It was a beautiful weekend here. The weather was warm and there was a light breeze. I spent all of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday outside with my little guy. We enjoyed everything that we could get into and play with. From toys, to flowers, and even a little mud. By the end of Sunday afternoon he curled up in my lap with a bottle and watched car tv shows with his daddy and me. I wasn't really paying attention to the tv, though. I was just to thrilled at the snuggle time. I held my most cherished gift close and thanked God for such an amazing blessing.

***
My mom babysat for me last night so that my hubby and I could have a date night, which turned out to be rather funny and not much of a date. We arrived home at around 8pm. Our plans were to crawl into bed and watch Netflix movies until 1 or 2 in the morning. We got about an hour into the first movie when his work phone rang. He gave me a look that said I'm sorry but I have to answer this. He's been at his job for over a decade so this is something that we are both pretty used to.

He went into the living room and I could hear him going around and round on the phone over which company should be fixing the problem. It always makes me laugh because no matter what or who's issue it is, he will always fix it.
I took the time to snuggle with my puppies and they loved every moment of quality mama time. After about an hour I started to fade and feel asleep.
So we didn't really have a date but I got some extra sleep, and it was needed.

***
I woke up at 4am to the sound of thunder, I listened to the rain beat against the window for quite awhile before dozing back to sleep. By 6 I was awake again, but it was one of the cutest wake ups I've ever had.
I feel the covers begin to rustle and jaws immediately comes to mind. Slowly at first then faster and faster till...bam I'm covered with puppies. One on my chest and one on each arm. All three right up to my face covering me with kisses. I laughed and giggled like a little girl trying to fight the onslaught back. After a few minutes they calm down and curl up close for some snuggling. I hold them all and enjoy the love that they give. After about an hour we all stretch and climb out of bed to head for the backyard.
Now this is a little tricky, we have a momma bird that has made her nest about 3 feet from our back door, and she is not to friendly with my doggies. I peek around the corner of the door to find that the coast is clear so I throw the door all the way back and my girls gleefully bounce outside. We had made it out to the middle of the yard when I spot the mama. Usually she stays away as long as we are not close to the the nest, today however she was a bit cranky.
She swoops down and hits one of my pups right in the butt sending her nose first in the dirt. Before I can reach her to pick her up she goes for a second dog and nails her in the back. My third pup takes refuge behind me and I see the mama bird coming straight for us.
For a moment there was fear, this crazy bird is going to attack me. Then, in a instant I get a little on the cranky side myself and bolt straight at the bird coming toward me. She nails me in the leg bounces off and swoops around the yard preparing for round two. I'm yelling at the dogs to get in the house and for the first time ever they actually listen. I then run in circles after this bird yelling at it; telling it I'm not hurting your babies so you need to stay away from mine. She finally landed on the edge of the roof and I'm standing below her having a staring contest.
Then I hear a slight laugh that turns into an all out burst of hysterical laughter. My next door neighbor was in his backyard watching the whole thing. Once he finally got control of himself he asked me if I had a was having a moment cause he'd never seen anybody chase a bird before. I couldn't help but laugh too.
The funny thing is I don't dislike birds and I would never touch their nest and even if I could have caught up to her I wouldn't hurt her. We were both just having momma / cub moments.

I did a check on the dogs just to make sure they were fine and then did a double check with my vet, who seemed to get a good laugh out of telling me that the pups will be fine and won't catch anything from angry birds.

So this has been my last few days. How about you? Are you doing well? Have any fun stories? Any cranky birds in your life lately, lol?

Hugs,
Anna

Oh and one more thing. I will have a new digi ready in the next few days. She is so adorable and I'm really excited about her.

Coffee with Friends

Good morning,
You were on my mind, so I though I'd share a cup of coffee with you and tell you some of the fun tidbits going on in my life right now.  So grab a cup and join me, I've save you your favorite chair. Lets have some fun friend time.

If we were having coffee this morning I'd tell you about an online recipe swap that I was invited to. It's this Friday. I'm so very excited about co hosting this new link party and I've been planning my recipe for days. I love to cook and can't wait to share one of my favorite dishes. And the best part is everyone will be welcome to join in and add their recipes too.

I'd update you on my cuddles new art table. He still loves it and I'm still not allowed to move out of my chair.
Which I honestly love, but I think I need to make a cushion for it, lol.
And jumbo sized children's crayons are not so easy to color with.

We've nearly filled an entire Disney coloring book with bright and vibrant scribbles. Once it's complete I'll put it in my mommy memory box to save and cherish forever.

I'd tell you about my latest digi. She was a special request from my mama and it just so quirky and cute. We both just love her. She is adorable but so different from my normal girls. I hope to have her inked and colored by Tuesday so that I can share her with everyone.

I'd tell you that I ordered new Copics last week. I was thrilled to see a box on my porch after only 24 hours!
However, I was a little bummed to see that they shorted me 4 markers and sent me an unusual drawing book that I didn't order. Hmmm... so on Monday I will be calling the store and asking if I can trade the book that I didn't order for the markers that I did, lol.
Fingers crossed.

So this has been me and my last few days. I've enjoyed them so very much and loved sharing them with you, but enough about me.
How have you been?
Are you enjoying your cup?

The biggest of hugs to all,
Anna
