Stronger Today

I've been a little MIA with my blogging the past few days. Honestly, I've sat at my computer multiple times to write a post but I never got it done. I've been super stressed and have just been having a difficult couple of days.

Last week, at a decently crowded store, I got assaulted. I left the incident physically unharmed but it shook me emotionally. It scared me to be honest. The woman kept trying to reach around me and grab at my son. It was so unreal and unusual. The attack came out of nowhere, I was not prepared for someone to be right on top of me. And I've spent the last week trying to deal with what happened.

At first I was just scared altogether. I was super over protective with my child. I felt the need to be close to him every second. It took a few days for me to realize that I handled the situation well and my son is safe so everything will be okay. After that realization I had to let go of my fear, so I drove back up to the store and walked every isle. I purchased nothing, I just wanted to be rid the fear that was now attached to one of my favorite stores. It was difficult. I kept expecting someone to jump out at me in every isle.

Feeling stronger with the decision to take my life back; I looked up some empowering inspirational quotes and made a beautiful girl in my art journal. Art truly is wonderful therapy.

I wanted a strong head shot. Something that spoke to my heart over the entire situation.
Something that reminded me that I am strong.

  4. Oh my goodness, what a scare, but certainly good, it went out well in the end, and nothing really bad happened, but I sure do understand very well indeed, that you were chocked, I´m sure, we all would be, but good you were able to go back and take over your life again,,, like you did, I really think, that´s important to move on in life. You sure handled everything just right and that´s just really cool. I really never ever hope, you´ll get to expirience anything like this ever again, and I´m sooo glad, you were able to let it make you stronger, and not destroy you.
Thanks sooo much for this cutie here and have a wonderful week-end now with your lovely family around to share their love.
Haven´t you still not got any mail from my girls??? They sent the second envelope here 4 weeks ago on monday and they keep asking, if you haven´t got this one either???. I really hope, you do, and it´ll help to make you feel, that there´s also nice and sweet people out there, we just haven´t met yet.

  19. You did all the momma bears proud, Anna. Most folks know you don't mess with a momma's cub, but this deviant had be taught the lesson firsthand. I'm so proud of the way you've handled the since this happened stuff. Telling yourself you're strong and going back to the place of a traumatic experience is truly brave. You have great self-healing skills. However, if it anything persists, don't be afraid to get some counseling. Your local police station or public library may be able to point you in that direction, and it should be at no cost to you.
I'm so proud of you. You hang in there...this too shall pass.

  22. I'm so sorry that happened to you. But I am glad to hear that you went back to the store, and didn't let the fear run your life.

  23. That is crazy scary. Sounds like you handled it well and good for you for trying to confront and overcome your fear, but I'm sure it's going to take some time. I hope they caught whoever tried such a thing. Wishing you well.
