Hi everyone,
I've spent the last several days in a cushy chair, snuggling with my little guy. He hasn't been feeling his best and mama cuddletime was needed. He wanted to be held every moment, day and night. It truly is miserable being a parent and not be able to fix everything, even if it is just little stuff that will quickly run its coarse.
We hardly moved for days, we just sat in the chair watching cartoons and stared out the window wishing the cold weather away. At one point I grabbed my Ipad, thinking I would surf the internet for a bit. Apparently that was not allowed, lol. My little guy picked it up, slid out of the chair, walked as far as he could away from the chair and hid the tablet in a corner. He then walked back to me and climbed in my lap. He snuggled in close and started to go to sleep. It was so cute, I couldn't help but laugh. He wanted my undivided attention and that was that.
Tonight he's starting to feel better and even though he wanted me right beside him, he (we) started playing with his toys again.
I worked on an illustration here and there over the past week and was able to finish it tonight.
This is Leah. I just love the lining of her coat and her pup. Doesn't she look pretty good, considering I drew and inked her one handed on the arm of a chair, lol. I haven't had a chance to color her yet but I wanted to post her before I started on my next drawing. Which after sitting for days, I have all kinds of ideas for new digis, lol.

Lovely drawing. I hope you little one is better soon. It was good you could sit with him. They are only little for such a short time.
ReplyDeleteReally cute. Love the lining. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love your Leah! Hope your wee one is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna, she is lovely
ReplyDeleteJust adorable! I loved your story, reminded me of when my year and a half yo niece Jordan was sick and couldnt go to daycare. I stayed with her for three days and all she wanted to do was cuddle and watch The Wiggles. So sweet, I was out of my mind after three days lol, but its such a good memory. I was looking through the past posts and saw I won a prize from you back in October, cant believe I missed it. Figure you gave it to someone else by now but just wanted to say sorry I missed that post. Hope your little one is all better soon. My grandson just got sick again, I swear he gets better and a week or two later he is right back sick again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Leah.
ReplyDeleteShe's pretty, love her doggie. Thank you
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome! I've just started using copics and your images are really helping me practice my techniques. Thank you so much for sharing these, they are much appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for Leah - love how she is holding her hair to stop it blowing across her face. I can so relate to that. It's good that you were able to spend so much time with your little one Anna. Those memories are precious - mine are teenagers now.
ReplyDeleteShe is so lovely! Thank you! It is so good to hear that your little guy is doing better; your story reminded me of "those" days with my children and now my Grandgirls.

Awww I know what that poorly cuddle time is like. And, although they're feeling under the weather, that time is just golden. I hope he is feeling a bit better now (and of course no browsing is allowed!) Found you through Casey's link up

Thanks for this sweet image.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your sharing about your little one being sick. About the only good thing about them being sick is the cuddle time. I miss it but now have 3 grands and so when one of them is sick, my daughter calls me up and invites me over to (s)nuggle. I can't get enough of it!
Thank you for this awesome image! I can't believe I wasn't a follower before....Love your blog! Mimi

Anna....thank you for following me and I am following you back. However, you are a "no-reply" blogger which makes it impossible for me to reply to your comments via email. You can fix this in your settings. Just thought I'd let you know.
ReplyDeleteHi Anna,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that your little one has been under the weather and while cuddling with him so much took you away from other things I'm sure you wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Glad to see you are back and thanks so much for the latest cutie Leah.

ReplyDeleteLove her, just had to give my sweet Cayla (my maltese) to my sister, broke my heart, but we are traveling and speaking so much and we took her around the U.S. and it went well but it is not fair to her to be cooped up in a car so as bad as it hurts, I gave her away to my sister. So I am going to use this image to send to my sister as a thank you for taking good care of her. Thank you bunches hugs, Cathy k
